Oasis of Skoura
When traveling to Morocco, a visit to the Oasis of Skoura should not be missed. The large palm gardens are near the small town of Skoura in the south of the North African country. In the fertile oasis there is a tall date palm, which is in the middle of the beautiful landscape, as well as numerous fig and pomegranate trees. In addition, almond and olive trees can also be found on the very green area. The many trees provide a lot of shade – an important function in this warm area. In addition to the tree species, there are also fields in the oasis where vegetables and grains in particular are grown. The oasis is watered through canals. In addition to numerous plants, there are also large clay buildings in the oasis that tower imposingly into the air.

Bahia Palace Marrakech
The Bahia Palace in Marrakech is one of the largest and most important sights in Morocco. With an area of more than 8,000 square meters, the palace grounds cannot be overlooked. The huge palace, which was built in the second half of the 19th century by order of the Grand Vizier Si Moussa, has a total of 160 rooms. The now vacant rooms are designed in an impressive oriental architecture that still reflects the luxury of days gone by. The walls and floors are decorated with imaginative mosaics. The richly planted inner courtyards and arcades offer visitors welcome relaxation. The Moroccan Ministry of Culture is now housed in a part of the Bahia Palace. The 30 x 50 meter inner courtyard is also worth seeing.

Due to its extremely impressive appearance, the palace was often used as a film set in the past. The Bahia Palace in Marrakech has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for many years. The palace is open to tourists from all over the world between 8.30 a.m. and 11.45 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. Entry is 10 dirhams (around 1 euro).
